Frequently asked questions
What file types can I preview in Paint Booth?
Textures as PNG, DDS, or YTD, dropped onto the model. Subscribers can also upload their own 3D models in .glb, .obj, or .yft; demo mode uses a fixed model set.
Why are my YFT textures missing in Paint Booth?
Re-export the YFT from OpenIV with 'Embed Textures' checked. Paint Booth reads embedded textures from the YFT, so if they weren't embedded on export the model loads untextured.
Do I need the game open to preview a livery?
No — Paint Booth renders the livery on a 3D model entirely in the browser, so you can iterate and screenshot without an in-game reload.
Can I export a preview image?
Yes. Adjust the environment preset, exposure, and shadow intensity, then click Export to download a high-resolution PNG screenshot.
