UV Studio
Recover and export UV templates from already-mapped models.
UV Studio renders a UV unwrap template directly from your loaded 3D model. Use it to create clean paint-over guides for Photoshop or other image editors.
Export options
- Normal-color shading — each polygon tinted by its surface normal for easy orientation.
- Wireframe overlay — draw UV edge lines on top of the normal render.
- Transparent background — export a PNG with no background for layering in Photoshop.
- Resolution selector — 1024 px, 2048 px, or 4096 px output.
Frequently asked questions
What does UV Studio produce?
A UV unwrap template rendered directly from your 3D model — a clean paint-over guide you can open in Photoshop to design a livery that lines up with the model's surface.
What resolution can I export?
1024 px, 2048 px, or 4096 px. Use a power-of-two size so the resulting textures render correctly in-game.
Can I get a transparent template for layering?
Yes — export a PNG with a transparent background so the template drops straight onto layers in Photoshop over your artwork.
What do the normal-color and wireframe options do?
Normal-color shading tints each polygon by its surface direction so you can read orientation at a glance; the wireframe overlay draws the UV edge lines on top so seams and islands are easy to follow.
